About the Role

Do you want to work as part of a close-knit team where you will strive to deliver world class quality? If yes, we are looking for a Crane Driver/Operative for our Final Assembly Segment (Seg 5) in Hull location. As Crane Operative you will be responsible to move, position or place blades, related components, machinery and equipment around the blade facility (internally and externally). When not performing blade and related components/equipment moves you will be required to support other areas of production as required and be responsible for housekeeping of work area.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Following Siemens’ safety policy, procedures, lift plans and quality standards
  • Organising and planning lifts in accordance with manufacturers operating procedures
  • Checking and monitoring lifts constantly ensuring very high levels of attention to detail
  • Ensuring safe positioning of people as lifts are conducted
  • Performing overhead crane and/or other assembly duties in line with specified training and competency measures
  • Ensuring all relevant personnel are fully aware of the job task prior to commencement of work
  • Supporting other areas of production as required
  • Carrying out tandem and synchronised lifts
  • Stopping the lift if an action is considered unsafe and report
  • Inspecting crane and lifting equipment daily and report faults

What You Need to Make a Difference

  • Experience of operating overheads/Gantry and console cranes and lifting machinery
  • Good knowledge of LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) preferred
  • A preferred experience of 50 tons minimum overhead crane operations
  • Exceptional levels of attention to detail, and the ability to follow all processes exactly
  • A desire to continuously improve
  • Ability to work a shift pattern that includes working days, nights and weekends
