A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our Substation Upgrades team as a Project Officer, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting growth and new projects related to our Instrumentation & Control (I&C) mandate in the UK. Your day will be filled with dynamic challenges as you develop and manage maintenance programs for both new and existing substation assets. You’ll be at the forefront of maintenance planning, project coordination, and budgeting, ensuring seamless execution and financial control. With your expertise in project management and maintenance strategies, you’ll drive the success of technical maintenance projects, making a significant impact on our operations and growth. This role is based in either Newcastle upon Tyne or Leeds and you must have full permanent UK right to work to be considered.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for substation assets and I&C systems.
  • Manage the work order lifecycle using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to EHS standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual maintenance budget and monitor expenditures against allocated budgets.
  • Support major turnaround activities and provide regular updates on project activities and timelines.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Some experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or project coordination within the energy, utilities, or industrial engineering sector would also be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and developing maintenance strategies.
  • Project management, budgeting, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on challenging problems, demonstrating accountability and problem-solving skills.
