You will focus on innovating equipment for gas turbines, striving to enhance their performance and reliability. Your efforts will be directed towards improving product efficiency, ensuring that your solutions meet industry standards. Each day will present new challenges and opportunities for growth, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to your team’s success. How You’ll Make an Impact As a group leader of the Mechanical and Fluid Systems group, you will provide day-to-day engineering and general leadership support to the group. You will engage in a variety of tasks that include providing technical training and guidance, workload coordination, and improving processes while collaborating with cross functional groups and other departments. You will support the group with the following activities: Implement system upgrades using the latest technologies to improve gas turbine auxiliary equipment. Act as the technical liaison, coordinating with internal departments, regional divisions, suppliers, and customers to complete projects within budget and on time. Document solutions to standardise processes across various projects. Manage obsolescence by identifying and sourcing replacements for outdated components and systems. Propose and implement product improvements to extend the product lifecycle. Build and maintain 3D CAD models, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings. Generate and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and maintain them in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including purchase specifications, design calculations, and technical reports. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Several years of proven experience in an engineering role within a relevant industry, preferably with Gas/Steam Turbine auxiliary packaged systems. In-depth knowledge of piping design and component specifications like welding, torques, fixings, couplings, pumps, valves, and instrumentation. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO21789, SIL, PED, and ATEX, is advantageous. Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Siemens NX, and SAP software, along with essential MS Office Suite skills. Outstanding communication and coordination abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them within set timescales. Strong leadership skills to coordinate, review, and approve the work of group members while providing guidance and mentoring junior engineers. A proactive and positive attitude, with attention to detail and the ability to think clearly and solve problems effectively.
