A Snapshot of Your Day

As our Security Responsible in Project (SRiP), you will be the named security lead and single point of contact on UK Grid Access projects, from bid and concept design through to commissioning and handover. You'll guide the project team through its security activities, making sure our solutions meet the customer's cybersecurity requirements and the UK regulations that apply to them.

In the UK the role covers physical as well as cyber security. Our customers are operators of essential services regulated by Ofgem, which expects the physical protection of network and information systems to be designed together with cyber security. You'll make sure both are covered in one integrated security concept, working with engineering disciplines, specialists, suppliers, consortium partners and the customer. You'll be part of Project Security Assurance (PSA) in the UK and of Siemens Energy's global Industrial Cybersecurity community.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Guide your projects through their security activities and make sure the cybersecurity targets and requirements of each project are met.
• Coordinate the collection of security requirements, have them evaluated by the right experts (Industrial Cybersecurity Experts and Officers, Portfolio Managers, physical security specialists) and cascade them to engineering teams, suppliers and consortium partners.
• Make sure each project has a holistic security concept covering cyber security, the physical security of network and information systems, and wider resilience risks such as loss of power, hardware failure and obsolescence.
• Coordinate physical security design: the register of sites and zones that need protection, physical security risk assessments, Operational Requirements following NPSA guidance, and the security of networked access control, CCTV and intrusion detection systems.
• Act as the link between the project team, suppliers, consortium partners, security consultants and the customer on all security topics.
• Make sure the security documentation is complete and delivered at the right project stage, including the Critical Asset Register, Security Plan and Compliance Plan.

What You Bring

• Several years' experience in a managing or leading role within project execution, for example in engineering, project management, procurement, quality or site management.
• A solid understanding of industrial cybersecurity and the relevant standards, such as ISA/IEC 62443 and ISO 27001.
• Working knowledge of UK security regulation for energy networks, including the NIS Regulations, the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework and Ofgem's requirements, or the drive to build it quickly. Knowledge of NPSA physical security guidance is a strong advantage.
• The ability to gather, evaluate and track requirements across many parties, and to bring engineers, suppliers and customers along with you.
• A degree or apprenticeship in engineering, business administration or a related field. ISA/IEC 62443, ISO 27001, RSES or CSyP certification is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and fluent English, spoken and written; German is an advantage.
