Role
Protection Engineer — join us to tackle technical challenges and enhance power systems for high-profile clients like TSO/DNO and renewable transmission asset operators. Your day will be dynamic, involving fault diagnostics, system configuration, and customer support, all while ensuring safe and efficient operations. You’ll travel to customer sites, including offshore installations, and work closely with a team of experts to deliver functional enhancements and maintain strong engineering relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert customer support for high-profile clients, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot HVDC/STATCOM/SVC systems, focusing on control and protection fault finding and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners for engineering support.
- Produce accurate test progress reports and maintain test area equipment and logs.
- Commit to Siemens Energy Customer Service initiatives, managing faults from initial contact to completion.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong multitasking and organisational skills.
- Proven experience in project delivery for Protection systems and exposure to SVCs, HVDC, or STATCOMs.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a good working knowledge of operational or industrial networks.
- Basic knowledge of electrical control or supply systems, with a willingness to travel to customer sites.
