The position is essential for maintaining the team's capacity to manage customs quality and compliance activities for Siemens Energy's UK operations. To address this, the role is structured around two core areas: Customs Compliance & Operations and Quality Assurance & Process Support. This focus ensures the execution of daily customs tasks and the upholding of data quality standards, directly supporting the team's compliance mandate. Given the focus on foundational compliance tasks, the ideal candidate will possess theoretical knowledge of international trade, typically gained through higher education, and demonstrate strong analytical abilities. This position is designed for an entry-level professional who will operate under close supervision while learning established processes.

How you'll make a difference

  • Perform routine data quality checks on customs information within internal systems (e.g., SAP) to identify inconsistencies
  • Support internal compliance reviews and audits by gathering and preparing necessary documentation
  • Identify and elevate simple compliance discrepancies or process issues to senior team members for resolution
  • Assist in documenting standard operating procedures related to customs processes as directed
  • Process cost allocations of customs relevant charges to different projects within the business
  • Conduct basic compliance checks on customs entries and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain and organize customs-related records and documentation in accordance with UK regulatory requirements

What you bring

  • University degree in a relevant field such as International Business, Law, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent vocational qualification
  • 0-2 years of experience in a customs, trade compliance, or logistics environment, including internships or entry-level positions
