Business Improvement Support A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Business Improvement Support team member based in Hull, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Working closely with Operations, the Business Improvement Team, Quality Engineering, and Production teams, you will support a wide range of improvement projects generated through the Just Fix It (JFI) process, Key Management System (KMS) reports, and general site improvement activities. Your day will involve hands-on tasks, equipment installation and movement, contractor coordination, documentation support, and contributing to lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives that help improve efficiency, safety, and operational performance.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Collaborate with Operations teams and the Business Improvement Team to identify, prioritise, and implement improvement opportunities through the Just Fix It (JFI) system.
  • Support the delivery of higher-level business improvement projects and site enhancement activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve workplace organisation, efficiency, and standards.
  • Install, set up, relocate, and transport equipment and site assets as required.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support improvement projects and operational processes.
  • Support contractor management activities, including permitting and ensuring compliance with site requirements.
  • Assist with Non-Conformance actions and continuous improvement activities arising from quality investigations.
  • Review tooling and equipment through the Key Management System (KMS) and identify defective or unavailable assets.
  • Liaise with Quality Engineering to ensure calibrated tooling is available and maintained for production teams.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient, and continuously improving working environment across the site.

What You Bring:

  • Experience using hand tools and practical joinery skills.
  • Previous experience working with power tools and general maintenance or handyman activities.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety standards within a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience or understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Experience supporting process improvements, production activities, or operational projects is desirable.
  • Knowledge of contractor management, permitting processes, or equipment control systems would be advantageous.
  • B1, B2, and B3 licences are desirable.
