How to contribute to our vision
We are currently looking for Maintenance / Trouble shooter Technician, This role will be predominantly based from the onshore facility in Harwich with transportation to offshore wind turbine generators via CTV or Helicopter. The shift pattern will be based around annualized hours.
As a Maintenance / Troubleshooter Technician you will be part of a permanently employed dedicated service team at Galloper Wind Farm based in Harwich, Essex, United Kingdom.
You will be able to lead a team and carry out all the duties associated with the fault diagnosis, service, maintenance and repair of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) wind turbine generators.
You will deliver excellent service and meantime between visits (MTBV) while ensuring compliance with SGRE internal processes and procedures, UK Legislation, Environment Health Safety and Quality.
The role will provide you with lots of variety, learning opportunities and a good team culture. The role will involve flexibility between service and other scheduled maintenance roles across the year.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
- To lead troubleshoot and service teams to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at site to EHS, quality, time and cost requirements. You will also support Senior Technicians with customer liaison
- Active safety leadership and promoter of the ZeroHarm EHS culture when in the turbine and in the Wind Farm – ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions
- Responsible for preparation and execution of work packages / tasks
- Development of technician competency and mentoring within area of responsibility for SGRE technicians. Also having direct supervision and support of all technicians in team whilst on site
- Liaises with other Field teams, Technical/engineering functions, service coordinator/planner function and senior technicians on any work package/task progress
- Maintain efficient timescales for delivery of service activities, assist in the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams as in conjunction with Service Planner / Service Coordinator /Senior Technician
- Report service schedule progress to Service Planner / Service coordinator / Senior Technician for entry into IT systems & Ensure accurate reporting into and utilization of MORS database and other electronic workflow systems
What you need to make a difference
As well as passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change, we are also looking for:
- This role requires someone with experience working as a Technician, within the wind industry and on the D6/7 SGRE platform is preferred
- You will have experience of working with a large range of contractors and customers
- You will have practical experience of working with MS Office applications and preferably SAP, MORS and remote diagnostic tools
- You will be a competent individual who is able to work under pressure and Lead a team of service technicians
- This role also requires you to have some knowledge about health and safety legislations
- Ideally you will have a Comprehensive understanding of and a consistent ability to demonstrate your own competency levels as a Technician, Competent Technician, Maintenance Technician and Troubleshoot Technician
- This role also requires shift working as per business needs, due to the nature of the offshore industry, expect seasonal fluctuations in shift patterns to fit around weather windows
- Due to the location of the role and the role requirements, the successful candidate must have a valid driving license. You must be willing to transfer to Wind Turbine Generator locations by both CTV and Helicopter
