Overview
The Training Specialist plays a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing effective training programs within the organization. Working closely with the Training Project Manager, this role ensures that training initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. The Training Specialist creates and updates instructional materials, evaluates the impact of training, and continuously enhances training strategies based on industry trends and feedback. The Training Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and performance of our Offshore technicians. The contract for this position is on fixed term (12 months).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Training Project Manager to design and develop training programs that are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives, following the training development process. This includes understanding business needs, defining learning outcomes, and creating programs.
- Develop clear and engaging instructional materials such as training manuals, presentations, educational guides, and storyboards. Ensure that materials are user-friendly, visually appealing, and relevant to the specific audience and training objectives.
- Apply various instructional design techniques and methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learning experiences. This includes integrating both traditional and digital learning methods to meet diverse learning needs and ensure the training's impact.
- Support to assess the effectiveness of training programs using a variety of evaluation tools such as assessments, feedback surveys, and performance metrics. Measure knowledge transfer, participant engagement, and overall performance improvement, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Create and implement refresher training modules to reinforce learning and ensure ongoing development for offshore wind technicians. These modules will be aimed at ensuring knowledge retention and addressing any skill gaps that may emerge over time.
- Continuously update and revise training materials to reflect changes in processes, technology, regulations, or lessons learned from previous training sessions. Ensure that all materials remain current and relevant to the evolving needs of the business.
- Maintain accurate records in training logbooks and the logbook system. Ensure that all training activities and progress are properly documented and tracked for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Support upskilling process throughout Construction Site Resources (CSR).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and advancements in learning and development. Apply new insights to enhance training programs and foster personal professional growth in the field.
What You Bring
- Relevant educational background (e.g., degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field).
- Proven experience in training design and development.
- Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Strong communication, presentation, and evaluation skills.
- PMC certification is a plus.
