A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Procurement Engineer within our Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine business, you'll sit at the intersection of Engineering, Procurement, R&D, and our global supplier network, helping shape how new and upgraded gas turbine products are designed, sourced, and delivered.

You'll lead cost optimisation activities, support major development programmes, and bring suppliers into the product development process at an early stage.

From organising Design to Cost workshops to identifying new technologies and challenging product costs, you'll have the opportunity to influence engineering and commercial decisions that directly impact the competitiveness of our products.

Working as part of an international Procurement Excellence team, you'll collaborate with specialists across the UK, Canada, Sweden, US, India, and other global locations.

  • How You'll Make an Impact
  • Act as the key Procurement interface for product development projects, representing Procurement within selected R&D programmes and working closely with project managers to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Lead Design to Cost and cost optimisation activities, developing and implementing cost-out measures with Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Procurement and technical teams to develop effective sourcing strategies, bringing technical and commercial perspectives together to support supplier and technology decisions.
  • Harness supplier expertise and innovation through early supplier involvement, technology scouting, and strategic partnerships that support new and upgraded gas turbine products.
  • Support successful market introduction of new products by ensuring Procurement and the supply base are engaged throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across our global Procurement Excellence network, including Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, Supplier Quality Managers, and international colleagues to share expertise and deliver project objectives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, a technical/commercial discipline, or a related field.
  • Experience working within or alongside Engineering, R&D, Project Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Cost and Value Engineering teams in a complex technical environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities and take ownership of cost optimisation or product development initiatives.
  • Technical understanding of gas turbines, rotating equipment, aerospace, power generation, or similarly complex engineered products would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, including confidence working with suppliers, internal customers, and senior management.
  • A curious, proactive, and commercially minded approach, with the ability to learn quickly, prioritise effectively, deliver results, and travel occasionally, typically two to five business trips per year.
