A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Technical Trainer at Siemens Energy’s Gas Services business in Newcastle, you’ll play a key role in developing the next generation of engineering talent. You’ll coordinate and deliver our apprenticeship program, combining hands‑on teaching with assessment to ensure all learners meet their qualification and industry standards. From creating engaging training materials to mentoring apprentices through their development journey, you’ll ensure every learner gains the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to succeed in their career.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Deliver, assess, and internally verify engineering courses up to Level 2 in-house.
- Assess and internally verify Level 3 engineering competencies in line with apprenticeship standards.
- Coordinate, track, and ensure the timely completion of all elements of the apprenticeship program.
- Mentor apprentices, supporting the development of their knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
- Develop and maintain engineering course materials, lesson plans, and schemes of work.
- Use OneFile to maintain accurate learner records and ensure evidence of learning is correctly documented.
- Review course content and delivery methods to meet future needs, updating working methods and enhancing professional development.
- Promote Siemens Energy’s Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
What You Bring
- Relevant Electrical, Mechanical, or Machining Engineering qualification.
- Machining experience (essential).
- Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
- Training Assessment and Quality Assurance Award (TAQA).
- D32/D33 or A1 Assessor’s Award.
- D34 or V1 Verifier’s Award.
- Ability to hold or obtain enhanced DBS security clearance with Adults and Children’s Barred list checks.

Our Gas Services division offers low‑emission power generation through service and decarbonization. We provide zero or low‑emission power generation and manage all gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators under one roof. We focus on decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
