A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Shipping Coordinator within our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business, you\'ll play a key role in ensuring our products reach customers in more than 90 countries safely, compliantly, and on time.

Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you\'ll coordinate the movement of parts, tooling, engines, and complete gas turbine packages while ensuring all import and export activities meet customs regulations and customer expectations.

You\'ll work closely with freight forwarders, customs specialists, internal stakeholders, and third-party logistics providers to deliver an excellent customer experience.

  • How You\'ll Make an Impact
  • Coordinate import and export shipments, ensuring customs compliance, preparing export documentation, certificates of origin, Dangerous Goods paperwork where required, and processing manual shipment requests.
  • Manage daily shipping activities by checking invoice accuracy, preparing shipment manifests, booking collections with approved freight forwarders, and supporting the preparation of customer shipments through third-party packaging providers.
  • Monitor shipments from despatch through to delivery, tracking proof of delivery, investigating shipping discrepancies, and resolving issues to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs specialists, export control teams, and internal stakeholders to support the timely delivery of customer projects.
  • Operate ERP systems and freight forwarder booking platforms to accurately process shipments while ensuring departmental processes and customs regulations are consistently followed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise shipping processes while supporting the wider team during periods of increased business demand.

What You Bring

  • Experience in a customer-facing shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or international transport environment.
  • Good understanding of import and export documentation, UK customs requirements, international shipping regulations, and Incoterms such as FCA and DAP.
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP, alongside strong Microsoft Office skills and freight forwarder booking tools.
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations and experience coordinating oversized or out-of-gauge shipments would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
