A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a Procurement Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of cost transparency and optimisation for SGT products. Imagine leading diverse projects and cost-out initiatives for small gas turbines, organising cost optimisation workshops with interdisciplinary teams, and harnessing the innovative power of our external suppliers. You will represent Procurement as a project manager during the development phase of new and upgraded products, collaborating closely with R&D project managers to achieve project targets like Target Cost. Your role will be pivotal in the Design to Cost (DTC) process, supporting and monitoring project teams to significantly contribute to our cost reduction goals.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as the key local interface for Procurement in development projects.
- Develop and implement effective cost-out measures in close alignment with internal cross-functions.
- Represent Procurement as a project manager in selected key R&D development programs.
- Serve as a technical partner for Procurement to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies.
- Leverage the know-how and innovation power of our suppliers while conducting technology scouting with Procurement and R&D.
- Support the market introduction of new products through early involvement of Procurement and strategic partnerships with suppliers.
- Collaborate with an extended network of experts in other procurement functions, including Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, and Supplier Quality Managers.
- Join our global Distributed POE team, collaborating with members in the UK, Sweden, US, and India.
What You Bring
- A combined technical/commercial or technical degree (minimum bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience in engineering, R&D, project management, and/or supply chain is required.
- Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, especially in interactions with internal customers and senior management.
- Relevant technical product knowledge in gas turbines or similar technologies.
- A curious, fast learner who is proactive and driven by results, with a strong sense of prioritisation and focus on what matters most.
- Willingness to travel occasionally when required.
