A Snapshot of Your Day

As an NPI Metrology Engineer within our Materials Solutions business in Worcester, you will play an important role in developing the inspection methods that enable advanced Additive Manufacturing components to move successfully into production.

You will translate customer and engineering inspection requirements into robust, production-ready measurement programmes, working closely with Metrology, Engineering, Manufacturing, and our operational inspection teams. Alongside supporting New Product Introduction, you will help solve day-to-day inspection challenges, improve existing measurement processes, and ensure our components consistently meet demanding quality requirements.

This is an opportunity to combine metrology programming expertise with advanced manufacturing technology in a growing and highly technical environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Convert customer and Metrology Engineering inspection requirements into robust, production-ready measurement and inspection programmes.
  • Develop and support inspection programmes using PC-DMIS and Zeiss metrology systems, ensuring defined techniques, procedures, work instructions, and quality standards are consistently followed.
  • Partner with Engineering and technical teams on New Product Introduction, helping develop effective inspection methods and processes for new components.
  • Support operational inspection teams with daily production issues, troubleshooting measurement problems and implementing corrections and improvement actions.
  • Create clear technical instructions and documentation for operational teams, accurately recording results, process deviations, and relevant inspection data.
  • Contribute to problem solving and continuous improvement across manufacturing while maintaining strong adherence to health, safety, and quality requirements.

What You Bring

  • Strong metrology knowledge supported by inspection or coordinate measurement machine training comparable to AUKOM Level 2.
  • Experience programming and working with coordinate measurement machines, with proficiency in PC-DMIS and experience with the Zeiss Metrology Suite.
  • Experience translating engineering, customer, or metrology requirements into practical inspection programmes and instructions for a manufacturing environment.
  • Good IT capability, including Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning systems, with a methodical approach to recording and maintaining technical data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a challenging production environment while supporting continuous improvement.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills. Knowledge of Selective Laser Sintering, Direct Metal Laser Sintering, or other Additive Manufacturing technologies would be advantageous but is not essential.
