The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining, coordinating, and continually improving the organisation’s Business Management System (BMS). The QSM is the custodian of the BMS, supporting operational teams to meet standard requirements by performing audits and driving continuous improvement across the organisation. Continuous improvement is the key to our success and as such a strong focus is on improvements stemming from nonconformances and lessons learnt and will also be a key deliverable within this role.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Maintain, update, and control the BMS in line with business needs and ISO standards, ensuring performance is monitored, measured, and reported with clear visibility of risks and gaps.
- Develop and enhance the BMS by integrating improvements and relevant technologies to ensure ongoing suitability and effectiveness.
- Plan and execute the internal audit programme across ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, including process, compliance, and risk‑based audits.
- Produce audit reports, communicate findings, support certification audits, and manage corrective actions through to timely closure.
- Identify improvement opportunities, support root cause analysis, and lead or contribute to initiatives that strengthen efficiency, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture by coaching teams, facilitating workshops, and collaborating across functions to ensure aligned and integrated compliance.
What You Bring
- Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a related discipline.
- IRCA Lead Auditor qualification; extensive ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 auditing experience.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in quality roles (e.g., Quality Manager, Quality/Systems Engineer) within highly regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of management systems, including document control and compliance frameworks.
- Stakeholder engagement across all levels; experience working with third parties and external bodies.
- Root cause analysis (RCA), Lean awareness, continuous improvement expertise; Chartered Quality status (or working towards) and CDM awareness.
