Imagine stepping onto a Siemens Energy Offshore Substation surrounded by the ocean and a plethora of Offshore Wind Turbines, generating and transmitting clean energy into the UK. We, in Manchester, are at the forefront of the AC Offshore Substation technology with our patented Offshore Transformer Module (OTM®) having designed, constructed and delivered 20 Offshore Substations since 2007. We have a great opportunity for a dynamic role where you manage and coordinate key offshore interfaces and suppliers for the tender and project development of these offshore substation platform projects.
As a Deputy Platform Package Manager, you’ll engage with potential offshore fabricators, eModules, and internal engineering designers, driving the tendering and project development phases for AC offshore substation and AC technology for the UK and Ireland market. Based in Manchester, you’ll be at the forefront of Siemens Energy’s cutting‑edge Transmission Solutions, offering EPC or turnkey solutions that connect power from generation to the grid. We also have collaborations with the wider Offshore Engineering team in Hamburg for specific DC opportunities.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Coordinate with offshore fabricators, eModules, and internal designers during tendering and project development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, articulating scope and strategy.
- Collaborate with lead design engineers and manage internal stakeholders, including procurement and quality teams.
- Engage with clients, certification bodies, and marine insurers to ensure project success.
- Train in key contractual terms and manage frequent, short trips for tenders and construction yard visits.
