A Snapshot of Your Day

As part of our Small Gas Turbine team, you’ll travel to customer sites across the UK and internationally supporting the commissioning, overhaul, troubleshooting, and optimisation of advanced gas turbine technology. From first-fire activities to resolving complex technical issues, you’ll play a key role in keeping critical power generation assets operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. No two days are the same. One week you could be supporting a planned outage, the next you may be mobilising to support a customer breakdown or leading commissioning activities on newly installed equipment. Working alongside experienced engineers, customers, and project teams, you’ll become a trusted technical expert within a highly skilled global engineering environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and support commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational activities for Siemens Energy Small Gas Turbines across customer sites globally.
  • Carry out pre-commissioning, first-fire, tuning, and performance optimisation activities across a range of turbine and control systems including PCS7 and CLogix.
  • Diagnose technical faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maximise plant reliability and operational performance.
  • Support outage and overhaul activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Work closely with customers, project teams, and field engineers to deliver successful site activities while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Mentor customer operating teams and junior engineers, sharing technical expertise and supporting knowledge transfer.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping enhance field processes, commissioning standards, and operational best practices.

What You Bring

  • Proven engineering background with a degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience within rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial systems.
  • Experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting gas turbines or similar rotating machinery.
  • Strong understanding of turbine control systems and operational processes.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills within live operational environments.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and customer locations.
  • A flexible approach to travel and mobilisation, including short-notice customer support when required.
  • A proactive and self-driven mindset with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
