A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Team Lead for Supplier Quality and Development, you will organise daily activities, set priorities and provide technical and operational support to the Supplier Quality Engineers. You will guide the team through all aspects of the supplier management process, act as an escalation point and ensure the consistent delivery of SQE responsibilities. You will coordinate stakeholder interfaces across the factory, manage workload and capacity within the department, and support the Supplier Quality Manager through reporting and delegated responsibilities.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Provide technical guidance to ensure stable, high quality output from the SQ&D function across all interfacing areas.
- Ensure external supplier quality issues are addressed and resolved through effective team leadership.
- Minimise the impact of non‑conforming parts on production through timely decision making and structured problem resolution.
- Maintain departmental organisation and prioritisation to meet internal customer expectations.
- Support the growth and development of SQ&D team members through coaching and oversight.
What You Bring
- Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of gas turbine fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Experience in project management, team working, leadership or cross‑functional coordination is desirable.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, including presenting to large groups and engaging at all business levels.
- Autonomous working style combined with a collaborative mindset and willingness to support others.
- Practical experience with structured problem‑solving techniques including Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why and 8D.
- Competent MS Office user.
- Progressive and pragmatic approach to decision making and problem solving.
