Join our team as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer – Distributed Generation, where you’ll be hands-on ensuring complex distributed gas turbine engines are built to the highest standards. You’ll embed quality into every step—from incoming components to final engine test and customer handover—partnering closely with engine assembly operations, manufacturing engineering, inspection teams, and project managers. You will lead process qualifications, manage nonconformance issues with a prevention mindset, and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor. Your work directly impacts the reliability, safety, and performance of engines powering critical energy solutions around the world.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Own production quality for distributed gas turbine engine assembly, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead nonconformance management using structured methods like 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, KT, and FMEA to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Quality Control Plans (MQCPs), inspection and test plans (ITPs), and internal Process Product Qualification (iPPQ) documentation for assembly processes.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to identify and mitigate assembly process risks through pFMEA, control plans, and mistake-proofing solutions.
  • Support engine assembly qualifications, milestone reviews, customer witness points, audits, and readiness reviews.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related technical field) — or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production quality in rotating equipment, gas turbines, aerospace, or heavy industrial assembly.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certifications preferred.
  • Hands-on expertise with complex mechanical assembly processes and quality validation.
  • Proven track record leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions in a production environment.
  • Solid knowledge of APQP / PPQ concepts, including pFMEA, control plans, and process qualification.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, ASME, ASTM, DIN, EN standards; exposure to nuclear or high-reliability standards a plus.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SAP QM, inspection techniques, and dimensional measurement systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and engage with customers, while confidently upholding quality and technical requirements in a respectful and professional manner.
