You will lead and support complex sales contract negotiations across the global energy market, working closely with colleagues from different countries and cultures. You will advise on legal risks, keep standard agreements aligned with evolving regulatory and market practices, and support business-critical decisions to ensure operations remain legally sound and strategically positioned for success.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Act as a trusted adviser managing legal matters across commercial and contract law, intellectual property, product liability, procurement, and claims management.
- Support and negotiate complex commercial and construction contracts within a global business environment.
- Provide pragmatic, business-focused legal guidance that balances governance requirements with commercial objectives.
- Collaborate globally to share knowledge, align legal standards, and support key strategic transactions.
- Support cost management, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within the Legal function.
- Design and deliver legal training sessions to equip stakeholders with essential contractual and compliance knowledge.
What You Bring
- English law qualified solicitor or barrister with 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience gained within a multinational company or law firm.
- Experience negotiating commercial and/or construction contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- High degree of independence, initiative, and decisiveness, with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines.
- Proven ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions.
- Flexible and pragmatic approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience using IT tools within legal practice.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally from time to time.
About The Team
Our Gas Services division offers low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. You will be part of the UK & Ireland Legal & Compliance team as well as the global Gas Services Legal team, collaborating with over 500 Legal and Compliance colleagues worldwide. The role supports business operations across the UK & Ireland and the wider global Gas Services division. The position can be based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Lincoln or Warwick, with occasional travel across UK locations.
