- identify, document, and support the resolution of non-conforming products, helping reduce non-conformance costs (NCC) and improve manufacturing quality performance.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing quality issues, working collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
- Monitor process capability and support quality assurance activities including first article inspections, key feature measurements, supplier surveillance, and final inspections.
- Operate and maintain inspection and test equipment to validate component integrity and performance.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality data to support reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Provide guidance and support to operators and lower-level employees on inspection techniques, quality standards, and best practices.
- Minimum of a time-served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification
- Experience working within a precision manufacturing or engineering environment with a strong focus on quality inspection and quality control.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency using a range of manual and digital precision measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, and manufacturing quality standards.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities within manufacturing operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across manufacturing and engineering teams.
