Role Overview
As a Quality Manager in Projects within the GT Service business across the UK & Ireland, this role plays a central part in ensuring that project activities meet Siemens Energy quality standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with Project Managers and Commercial Project Managers, the role embeds quality principles throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning through execution and close‑out. The position provides quality leadership without direct line management responsibility, focusing instead on governance, assurance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement to safeguard project integrity and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Commercial Project Managers to integrate quality objectives into project planning, execution, and decision‑making.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans that align with Siemens Energy, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations through effective assurance, auditing, and inspection activities.
- Identify, assess, and manage quality‑related risks, non‑conformances, and corrective and preventive actions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary quality interface for customers, suppliers, and certification bodies, managing audits, quality communications, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, sharing best practices, and supporting process optimisation across the GT Service business.
Required Qualifications
- Practical experience in quality management within engineering, service, or transmission and distribution project environments.
- A strong understanding of quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001, and experience supporting audits and inspections.
- Proven ability to apply quality tools and techniques such as root cause analysis, corrective actions, and risk‑based thinking.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across project, supplier, and customer interfaces.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- A relevant technical or quality qualification is required, with internal, supplier, or lead auditor certification considered an advantage.
