A Snapshot of Your Day

Every day as an Installation Apprentice will offer new challenges and learning opportunities. You’ll work on real‑life projects while developing your skills on a structured and supportive learning journey. Throughout your 3‑year apprenticeship, you’ll be an integral part of our team, carrying out hands‑on activities on high‑value equipment across a variety of product types. Your day‑to‑day tasks will involve installing Siemens Energy’s cutting‑edge products, collaborating with our experienced Site Team, and gaining a deep understanding of our technologies. You’ll learn to read and interpret technical drawings, follow established business processes, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. Your work environment will be diverse—ranging from remote construction sites to office locations—giving you exposure to different settings and the chance to develop a wide range of skills. Whether you’re working within the training facility, on‑site, or in the office, you’ll be supported every step of the way.

As part of our Mechanical & Electrical Installation Team, your work will directly contribute to delivering projects to the highest standards. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products perform reliably in the field, helping to power critical industries and communities. The skills and experience you gain will have a lasting impact on the energy sector, and you’ll take pride in knowing your work helps drive the energy transition.

Training and Development

Your training will take place at our partner provider at 3T (Aberdeen) on a block release basis, where you will complete a ‘EEA Level 3 Certificate in Substation Fitter Construction Operations’ qualification. During your training, you’ll gain hands‑on experience and learn from experts in the field. Initially you will work alongside other apprentices whilst you are introduced to the team and new project sites, and then will progress to independent site visits and travel as your training continues. You will also participate in diverse work placements within Siemens Energy, where you’ll apply your skills to real‑world projects, ensuring you graduate as a confident and highly skilled professional.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 5 (C) or above, including Maths, English Language, and Science.
  • A full UK driving license.
