A Snapshot of Your Day

In our HVDC Systems Team, we are testing and verifying the hardware and software for our innovative high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) Projects in our Test Center and ensuring proper functionality and good quality of our HVDC Plants worldwide during commissioning. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely together with project management, engineering, and end customers to provide customized solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

How You’ll Make An Impact

You will actively advance the Energy Transition by bringing our HVDC projects to a successful completion with our customers. As part of a project team, you will carry out hardware and software tests, including customer acceptance, in one of our test centers and at our customers’ sites worldwide. You are responsible for the configuration, testing, and commissioning of switchyard control in high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. You independently trace bugs and support our Software Engineering team in debugging. You support Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk, and Claim Management as well as improvement programs.

What You Bring

  • Completed a degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable education/qualification, or Certified Technician.
  • Very good knowledge and working experience in commissioning of bay control units, ideally SIPROTEC 5 series with DIGSI 5, including the associated high‑voltage components in the switchyard.
  • Solid understanding of high‑voltage and substation technology as well as testing of interlocking logic schemes and automatic control sequences.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Willingness for worldwide business trips and mainly long‑term assignments on construction sites in the UK, Ireland, and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platforms.
  • Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision‑making capability.
