A Snapshot of Your Day: As part of the HVDC Protection Team, the role focuses on testing, verifying, and commissioning control and protection hardware and software for innovative HVDC projects. Working from state‑of‑the‑art test centers as well as customer sites worldwide, this position collaborates closely with project management, engineering teams, and customers to ensure high‑quality, fully functional HVDC systems. The role supports project execution from integration testing through commissioning, contributing directly to the reliable delivery of HVDC plants that enable the global energy transition.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of HVDC projects by supporting integration testing and commissioning activities.
  • Execute and document Functional, Dynamic, and Customer Acceptance Tests for HVDC control and protection systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and trace software and system issues, supporting engineering teams during debugging activities.
  • Commission measuring systems, DC protection systems, and transient fault recorders at test centers and customer sites.
  • Support quality, risk, and claim management activities throughout project execution.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

What You Bring:

  • A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
  • Knowledge of testing and engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC, or grid protection systems.
  • Experience or strong understanding of electrical power stations, HVDC systems, or commissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with current and voltage measuring devices and other primary electrical equipment.
  • Strong communication skills with fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for long‑term assignments, with a collaborative, proactive, and solution‑focused mindset.
