We are recruiting for an effective and high performing individual to join our Hull Blade Factory team in the role of Group Lead (Production Shift Manager). As a Group Lead (Production Shift Manager) you will be responsible for leading a large team of Production Operatives in a fast-paced environment. You will take full responsibility for performance, ensuring your team has clear direction and a high level of engagement, delivering all activities safely and efficiently. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing team within a dynamic business, delivering innovation in our renewable energy division.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for delivery of SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People) and ensuring key KPI targets are achieved across the shift
  • Ensuring the correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions
  • Ensuring optimum utilization of resources
  • Ensuring manufacturing guidelines, processes, and procedures are followed to ensure safe delivery of a high-quality product on time every time
  • Leading and supervising assigned Team Leaders and Operatives across a wide area of disciplines
  • Clear, concise, and effective communications to your team
  • Responsible for performance management across the team
  • Effective and thorough implementation of the blade handover process
  • Leading team in ensuring correct Prisma bookings are adhered to with full understanding of routing importance, managing own teams spend budget for workwear and consumables
  • Management of competence across the operational area
  • Ownership of the HR process for all employees within operational area
  • Hold constructive feedback dialogues to ensure right first time performance is achieved
  • Ownership of operational standards including but not limited to 5S, housekeeping, short interval control and process validation
  • Ownership of takt adherence and line balancing across operational area
  • Ownership for the review of all task related risk assessment within the operational area

Desired skills and experience:

  • Leadership – experienced in managing and directing teams in a manufacturing/production environment preferable
  • Experienced in working in the wind industry desirable but not essential – other applicable industry experience will be considered
  • Possesses excellent decision-making skills and an innovative approach to problem solving – previous experience in resolving issues and supporting high performing, successful teams
  • Experienced in working with and delivering production plans and associated disciplines
