SGRE are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor with extensive knowledge of Wind Turbine construction to support the safe execution of our upcoming Offshore Wind Farm Projects. Primarily this will be to support UK windfarms but with opportunities for international assignments. The HSE Advisor will coordinate with SGRE internal workforce and external contractors to ensure that a suitable and sufficient Safe system of work is in place prior to works being undertaken and liaise with site supervisors to monitor that this is adhered to during the execution of works. The HSE Advisor ensures that SGRE and their contractors align with Environmental, Health and Safety Legislation, SGRE standards, Customer and Site requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support the SGRE site management team to discharge their duties in line with SGRE procedures and local legal regulations.
- Monitor site emergency preparedness readiness.
- Monitor that SGRE and contractors practice effective pre-job planning.
- Engage with, and promote the use of Enablon as a reporting tool for safety observations and proactive inspections.
- Monitor that safety observation reports are followed up, in conjunction with site management colleagues where appropriate, ensuring proportionate investigation of each occurrence is completed and corrective/preventative actions are effectively implemented where applicable.
- Coordinate with action owners to achieve timely close out of CAPAs.
- Carry out analysis of safety observations, actioning any identified trends through awareness schemes or other appropriate actions.
- Attend planning/coordination meetings to ensure works are safely collaborated with other operations on the site.
- Share HSE focus topics from within the general SGRE business with all collaborators at the worksite.
- Perform frequent site safety walks and formalised inspections.
- Communicate and collaborate with technical functions and other HSE team members across the business to share learning and develop guidelines.
- Participate in HSE audits and assessments, both internal and external.
What You Bring
- Five years’ experience in an HSE role in the Wind Turbine Construction/maintenance industry.
- Recognised HSE Qualification or demonstrable experience.
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
- Fluency in English language.
- High motivation level; self-starter with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- High capability with various office and cloud-based software.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- This position is field-based and will encompass rotational shifts.
- The role will require applicants to be fit to work offshore.
- Applicants must be comfortable with working at height.
- Desirable secondary language skills beyond English.
