Join a dedicated team supporting the Siemens Energy fleet of large gas turbines across the UK and Ireland, where your expertise directly shapes safe and reliable power generation. You review and assess gas turbine data, turning technical insight into clear recommendations and risk assessments that guide both planned and unplanned maintenance. You act as a trusted single point of contact, coordinating engineering activities across the full shaft train while answering technical queries from colleagues and customers. When issues arise, you provide first response support to the UK fleet and, at times, head on site to power stations to resolve challenges alongside on‑site and back‑office teams. Every day, your work helps customers operate with confidence while supporting the wider energy transition.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Research, review, and assess gas turbine data to define technical scope, recommendations, and risk assessments for maintenance activities
  • Act as the single point of contact for engineering activities, coordinating across departments and the full shaft train
  • Respond to operational queries from the UK gas turbine fleet, providing timely first response support
  • Communicate with internal teams and external customers to plan effective outages and resolve technical questions
  • Attend power station sites to support planned and unplanned maintenance, coordinating with colleagues to deliver high‑quality solutions

What You Bring

  • A relevant engineering degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • A solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real‑world situations
  • Strong critical thinking and adaptable problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with Siemens Energy large gas turbines is preferred; experience with steam turbines or generators is advantageous
  • High computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with SAP

About The Team

Based at Siemens Energy in Newcastle, you will support the maintenance and service of large Siemens Energy gas turbines across the UK and Ireland. You will be part of a wider technical team of around 12 colleagues. Together, the team provides engineering and service support for gas turbines, steam turbines, marine turbines, and new business fields. The group works closely across disciplines to respond to operational needs and maintenance challenges. Collaboration and shared responsibility are central to how the team delivers reliable outcomes for customers. Your role connects site activity with back‑office expertise to ensure consistent, high‑quality service.
