A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy Industrial Turbomachinery has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Project Manager. You will be working alongside the Small Gas Turbine Project Management team, reporting to the Head of Commercial Projects. You will take full responsibility for all commercial/finance related matters and support the technical project manager in managing and optimizing targeted financial results with due professional care.
What You Bring
- A project professional that has experience in the commercial aspects and project financials (controlling & reporting).
- A practitioner in one of these fields: Project Financial Controlling / Commercial Project Management / Business Administration.
- Experience in project budgeting, financial management of risks/opportunities, claim management and a knowledge of contract law.
- Competent in working collaboratively and cooperatively within project teams/ with international projects and intercultural teams.
Your responsibilities
- Co-leading Projects together with the Project Manager, in managing and optimizing targeted financial results, with the objective of driving the project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards, customer requirements and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG).
- Full responsibility for all commercial/finance related matters, including but not limited to handling Accounting, Legal, Tax and NCM topics.
- Prepare commercial documentation for regular project status meetings and ensures the accuracy of the commercial project data including the forecasting of revenue, profit and cash.
- Initiates invoicing according to project progress and contractual terms.
- Actively manages cost and invoices to optimize project cash flow.
- Ensures compliance with local GAAP requirements, FRG and internal controls.
- Ensures the accuracy of project books and records, incl. recording of such in appropriate systems, e.g. SAP.
- Ensures the application and the continuously managing of financial Guarantees, Bonds and project securities.
- Supports the PM in identifying, minimizing non-conformance costs and establishing an appropriate reporting structure; supports the implementation of lessons learned into own project and the organization in general.
- Supports the PM in identifying, evaluating and assessing risks & opportunities.
- Ensures that timely contractual notifications are made.
- Together with the PM, proactively manages contract administration and claim management for the Projects under their control, both up and down stream.
- Co-leads contracts/claim/change order negotiations with stakeholders.
- Manages customer expectations together with PM.
