The GSO AGT (Aero Derivative Gas Turbines) Services Parts Application Engineer role is accountable for developing a regional parts sales strategy and driving parts sales to meet business targets in regions they look after. The candidate will support the regional Sales teams by identifying and developing parts opportunities and proposals. This customer facing role will work directly with regional service unit and customers to develop parts programs to support operation and maintenance of their equipment. The role will involve support of customer meetings which entails travel within the region and reports to the Global Head of Parts Engineering.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Provide in-region technical and sales support to Sales Managers.
  • Pursue parts sales and develop sales strategies to win orders.
  • Define parts kits to operators.
  • Support region in identifying new opportunities to sell parts.
  • Lead on-site customer conferences, planning maintenance and major parts projects, with support of regional sales team.
  • Define spare parts priorities of regional sales and AGT Services (Customer Order Administrators, Parts Definers, Buyers).
  • Drive internal support from engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and COAs to generate customer parts quotes, technical information, and execute projects.
  • Prepare appropriate project cost, pricing and margin analysis, project and business risk analysis, bid approval documentation.
  • Provide committing quotations (including pricing, lead-times, commercial conditions).
  • Assignments will cover a wide variety of equipment including power turbines, gas turbine, combustion air filters, lubrication systems, etc.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 7+ years of experience in an engineering role or Master’s Degree preferably MBA and 5+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • In lieu of degree, 15+ years of experience in engineering / installation commissioning / field support / Customer service / Sales.
  • Experience in managing projects.
  • Experience in customer/region facing roles.
  • Travel – at least 25%.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS Degree in Engineering preferred, increased experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
  • MBA or technical sales experience a plus.
  • Previous management experience in a technical sales environment a plus.
  • AGT (Aero Derivative Gas Turbines) knowledge and experience preferred, but not mandatory.
