Join our team as a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist, where you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. In this role, you will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
You will:
- Set up and operate CNC machinery, ensuring precision in every part produced.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to determine machining operations effectively.
- Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to guarantee optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.
- Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Ideally, you have completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship; candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered. You should have:
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment, showcasing your technical skills.
- Proficiency in operating machine tools such as lathes, borers, and grinders, demonstrating your hands-on expertise.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required, adapting to the needs of the production schedule.
- A strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, allowing you to execute tasks with precision.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, ensuring the highest quality output.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a positive work environment.
- Computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes, enabling efficient tracking of production data.
