Join our innovative Panel Build facility in Newcastle as a Bid Manager at Siemens Energy. Your daily responsibilities include coordinating with teams to develop competitive site installation estimates, analyzing project specifications, and preparing detailed cost calculations. You will work closely with departments such as proposals, commercial, operations, engineering, and procurement to ensure comprehensive bid submissions. The role involves negotiating with customers and subcontractors to refine project terms and costs, participating in mentorship sessions to enhance your skills, and finalizing bid documents with meticulous attention to detail, all while contributing to Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering sustainable and reliable energy solutions.

How I will make an impact

  • Serve as the point of contact for site-related topics within the bid team.
  • Define optimal site project setup in collaboration with the Pre-Delivery Manager, develop estimating programs, and produce estimates based on contractual data, financial requirements, and scope of work.
  • Analyze specifications, including scope documents, drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and historical data, to calculate project costs using labour and material pricing schedules.
  • Prepare estimates using work breakdown structures and coding of accounts.
  • Negotiate with customers, subcontractors, and consortium partners.
  • Collaborate with your mentor to expand your knowledge and participate in the high-performance program.

What do I Bring?

  • A solid educational background.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in a leadership role. Knowledge of construction and commissioning concepts is a bonus.
  • Extensive bid management experience within large, complex environments.

Prior experience with project management and cost estimation is desirable. You should support the transition from tender to project execution by providing necessary information and insights to project teams. You are a team player with intercultural sensitivity, initiative, and a focus on results and quality.
