Join our new cutting-edge Panel Build facility in Newcastle. As a Bid Manager at Siemens Energy, your day involves coordinating with teams to develop competitive site installation estimates, analyzing project specifications, and preparing detailed cost calculations. You collaborate closely with proposals, commercial, operations, engineering, and procurement departments to ensure comprehensive bid submissions. Engaging in negotiations with customers and subcontractors, you refine project terms and costs. Throughout the day, you participate in mentorship sessions to enhance your skills and finalize bid documents with meticulous attention to detail, contributing to Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering sustainable and reliable energy solutions.

How I will make an impact

  • Point of contact and responsible for the coordination of site-related topics within the bid team.
  • Define the best setup for the site project execution together with the Pre-Delivery Manager and develop the estimating program, producing estimates based on contractual data, financial requirements, scope of work, and services.
  • Analyze specifications, including scope documents, drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and historical data; calculate project costs using labor and material pricing schedules.
  • Prepare the estimation by the work breakdown structure and code of accounts.
  • Negotiate with customers, subcontractors, and consortium partners.
  • Work with your mentor to develop your knowledge base and participate in the high-performance program.

What do I Bring?

  • Engineering background.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing environments, preferably in project management roles.
  • Knowledge of construction & commissioning concepts will be an asset.
  • Extensive bid management experience within a large complex environment.
  • Prior experience with project management and cost estimation is desirable.
  • An ability to support the transition from tender phase to project execution, providing necessary information and insights to project teams.
  • You are a great team player and bring intercultural sensitivity, initiative, result, and quality orientation.
