Wind Turbine Service Technician

In this role, you\'ll be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa and/or Senvion wind turbines at one of our potential wind farm sites in the US. Although this position will have a home site, it will be part of a mobile team supporting three other sites as needed. Provide excellent service to our customers and analyze responses in stressful, hazardous situations.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

  • Contribute to the improvement of field procedures and standard methodologies.
  • Work inside wind turbine enclosures at heights of up to 300 feet.
  • Maintain composure and think clearly during stressful or hazardous situations.
  • Meet physical requirements, including ladder climbing (minimum 267 steps), stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, working above shoulders, pushing, pulling, and exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces, and extreme weather conditions.
  • Efficiently handle additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; electrical/mechanical experience is desirable. A combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or fewer, and pass a medical physical to ensure ability to perform job functions.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and plan daily and weekly work with high quality standards. Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including PLC programming and converters.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% to customer sites within and outside the US. Must have a valid passport and driver\'s license.
  • Valid driver\'s license with a clean driving record. Must maintain license and acceptable driving record throughout employment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without employer sponsorship. Successful candidates will pass background checks, drug screens, and other role-specific tests.
