As a Mechanical Test Fitter, you will be part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for maintaining test facilities and performing installation and performance testing of gas turbines. Working within a DSEAR-controlled environment, you will connect gas turbines to test rigs, fuel supplies, lubricating oil and pneumatic systems, inlet and exhaust ducting, output shafts, and instrumentation. You will then collaborate with the team to run performance tests to industry standards.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Carry out mechanical fitting activities to exacting standards with detailed documentation.
- Ensure the highest level of health and safety, working in line with Zero Harm principles.
- Support production, development, and other departmental activities as required.
- Contribute to business improvements and maintain a high-quality working environment.
- Work shift patterns as required to meet program demands.
- Experience in a relevant mechanical industry, preferably with exposure to rotating equipment.
- A recognized full Level 3 apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or Technical Certificate in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- Demonstrate attention to detail to achieve precision in all assembly work.
- A strong safety and quality-driven mindset, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
