Opportunity

We are recruiting for an effective and high performing individual to join our Hull Blade Factory team. As a Group Lead (Production Shift Manager) you will be responsible for leading a large team of Production Operatives in a fast‑paced environment, taking full responsibility for performance, ensuring clear direction, high engagement, and safe, efficient delivery of all activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People) and ensuring key KPI targets are achieved across the shift.
  • Ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Ensure optimum utilisation of resources.
  • Ensure manufacturing guidelines, processes and procedures are followed to ensure safe delivery of a high‑quality product on time every time.
  • Lead and supervise assigned Team Leaders and Operatives across a wide area of disciplines.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and effectively to your team.
  • Management of performance across the team.
  • Implement the blade handover process effectively and thoroughly.
  • Lead the team in ensuring correct Prisma bookings are adhered to, with full understanding of routing importance, while managing own team’s spend budget for workwear and consumables.
  • Manage competence across the operational area.
  • Own the HR process for all employees within the operational area.
  • Hold constructive feedback dialogues to ensure right‑first‑time performance is achieved.
  • Own operational standards, including 5S, housekeeping, short‑interval control and process validation.
  • Own takt adherence and line balancing across the operational area.
  • Own the review of all task‑related risk assessments within the operational area.

What You Need to Make a Difference

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in managing and directing teams in a manufacturing/production environment (preferable).
  • Experience in the wind industry desirable but not essential; other applicable industry experience will be considered.
  • Excellent decision‑making skills and innovative problem‑solving approach; previous experience resolving issues and supporting high‑performing teams.
  • Experience delivering production plans and associated disciplines.
