Job Description
As part of the team supporting our Small Gas Turbine fleet, your day will involve mobilizing to various customer sites to oversee commissioning, overhauls, and breakdown activities. You'll be a key player in ensuring our turbines are running optimally, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Participate in the commissioning process for gas turbines, from pre-commissioning to troubleshooting.
- Work with a dynamic team to solve complex issues and improve turbine performance.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of turbine systems in the field.
- Complete pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across various application types and control systems (e.g., PCS7, CLogix).
- Set up STARMS, troubleshoot systems, carry out cause and effect checks on fire and gas monitoring systems, and perform starting and running checks.
- Conduct root cause analysis of start failures and set up DLE mapping while performing trim balances.
- Understand packager requirements, including quality systems and their impact on task performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, in line with our Think Customer principles.
- Drive team performance proactively and identify areas for improvement before they impact team morale or Siemens' brand reputation.
- Mentor and transfer knowledge to customer operating teams, training and guiding Commissioning team members.
- Manage and lead onsite teams (including Siemens Energy staff, third-party workers, and customer operatives).
- Contribute to overall project planning, both onsite and offsite, working alongside key stakeholders.
- Complete all required site documentation, including reports and modifications, and ensure the implementation of best practices in the field.
What You Bring
- Proven engineering background with a degree (or equivalent) and experience with rotating machinery and software.
- Previous experience in commissioning and troubleshooting gas turbines or similar equipment.
- Excellent customer focus and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams in diverse geographical locations.
- Flexibility to travel as needed and the ability to mobilize on short notice.
- Proactive self-management to meet key targets and goals.
