Emulation Hardware Support Engineer – a highly motivated and technically skilled engineer to maintain, monitor, and optimize emulation products and infrastructure across data center, cloud, hybrid environments, and customer sites. This role blends hands‑on emulation hardware support and operational ownership with a forward‑looking focus on automation, observability, scalability, and service reliability. The ideal candidate collaborates closely with R&D, Customer teams, and Operations to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and continued expansion of the emulation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Provide lifecycle hardware support for Siemens EDA emulation systems, including installation, service, upgrades, and end‑of‑life activities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues to restore system availability and minimize customer impact.
- Respond to incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and manage problems for Emulator/ProFPGA and Veloce product lines.
- Provide onsite and remote hardware support at customer locations, Siemens offices, and dispatch as required.
- Conduct customer site surveys to validate electrical, environmental, and infrastructure readiness prior to system installation.
- Execute full system installations, including unboxing, rack‑and‑stack, cabling, hardware assembly, software loading, and initial checkout testing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support issue resolution, product reliability improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Manage material disposition of failed hardware, maintain spare parts inventory, and ensure accurate tracking in internal systems.
- Collect and report operational data to support global monitoring, reliability analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide basic IT and system administration support as needed to maintain operational continuity.
- Serve as the hardware technical representative, providing proactive onsite support at end‑user locations domestically and internationally.
- Bachelor’s in electronic or software engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic hardware.
- Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience with high‑speed serial data technology and systems.
- Strong technical communication, analytical problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow technical directions, both in writing and verbally.
- Experience handling electronic parts with proper grounding procedures.
- Experience working directly with customers.
- Knowledge of server and network technology is highly desired.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel on short notice.
- Ability to work in remote customer locations while communicating with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Physical strength to move 50–70 pounds; ability to stand for long periods in a lab or datacenter environment.
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring and automation tools.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and system observability across hybrid environments.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP).
- Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Data centre operations and technical knowledge is important.
- Experience with emulation hardware support and emulation technologies.
- Experience handling electronic and electrical knowledge.
- Familiarity with enterprise security standards and compliance‑driven operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards.
- Understanding of security and compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST, SOC 2).
