Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to AI development by working as part of a team to develop, test, and implement AI/Machine Learning models and algorithms that address specific industrial problems within the Digital Industries portfolio, such as predictive maintenance modules, autonomous systems data preparation, quality control applications, and digital twin initiatives.
  • Learn and apply state‑of‑the‑art AI techniques and tools to real‑world datasets and challenges under the guidance of experienced engineers and your AI Development/Research Leader.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code in relevant programming languages (primarily Python, C++) to implement AI algorithms, data pipelines, and software components.
  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, pre‑processing, and feature engineering to prepare datasets for model training and evaluation.
  • Support the testing, validation, and performance evaluation of AI models, contributing to their robustness and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers, domain experts, and researchers to understand project requirements and integrate AI components into larger software systems and platforms.
  • Actively participate in a structured graduate program, engage in continuous learning through internal training and workshops, and stay informed about new AI advancements.
  • Clearly document your work and communicate progress and findings to your team and mentor.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field, obtained within the last 1–2 years.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of core AI/ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning, basic deep learning architectures, and data science fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language for AI development (e.g., Python, C++).
  • Familiarity with relevant AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, or Keras.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and good software engineering practices.
  • Some hands‑on experience with AI/ML projects through academic coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.

Preferred:

  • CUDA/Graphics Card programming.
  • Experience with specific AI/ML tasks such as computer vision, natural language processing, or time‑series analysis.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, or MLOps concepts.
  • Exposure to industrial domains such as manufacturing, automation, or energy systems.
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
