Apply now for the position of Senior R&D Scientist (Fixed Term Contract ending January 2028) and you will lead on research and development activities for new assay development projects and/or method improvement projects on automated immunoassay systems. You will be ensuring the application of scientific statistical principles to design, conduct and analyse multi-variable experiments. This role is based at our Llanberis facility in North Wales.

Your Role:

  • You will develop and guide research, analysis and experimentation for product, process development and improvement of immunoassays.
  • Leads interdisciplinary Element Team/ Design Change / Design Transfer meetings.
  • Represents R&D at Core Team Meetings, responsible for the timely processing of assigned tasks.
  • Communicates and coordinates the project requirements (resources and project budget) in the function and reports them back to the project team.
  • Plans, communicates and implements the schedule, assists in the creation of the project schedule and in the definition of measures to avoid project delays.
  • Provides technical management of the technical staff assigned to the core team.
  • Develops analytical verification protocols for new application, new assay development or lifecycle improvement projects.
  • Leads investigations and supports colleagues with their knowledge with technical questions, even outside the team.
  • Supports / guides the execution of application analytical verifications by more junior staff to agreed protocols.
  • Provides technical leadership of projects from concept to transfer to routine manufacturing and launch.
  • Ensures compliance with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures. To highlight any real or potential Health and Safety issues to management in a timely manner and assist in actioning their decision.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Biological Sciences or related field.
  • Industry experience in Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Diagnostics (preferred) or relevant transferrable experience.
  • Commitment, integrity and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Ability to work across different teams and collaborate effectively.
