We are currently seeking to appoint a Casual Mini Bus Driver to work as part of the Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust. The post holder will be responsible for the operation of the minibuses and escort duties for school trips and sports events.

The MAT Casual Mini Bus Driver is responsible for the safe operation of Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust minibuses. Working as part of the Trust team, the role involves:

  • Providing transport and escort duties for school trips and sports events across the Trust's sites.
  • Ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  • Conducting regular safety checks.
  • Providing a reliable service for pupils and staff.

Flexibility is essential, as the driver will be required to work across various locations to meet the needs of the organisation.

Job requirements:

  • Must hold a clean, full driving license for at least 2 years. A MIDAS Driving Qualification is desirable, though training can be provided if required.
  • Practical knowledge of the Highway Code, basic health and safety, and a basic understanding of car mechanics.
  • Experience dealing with people is essential; experience specifically driving passenger vehicles or working with children is desirable.
  • Ability to assist students with boarding, ensure they are securely seated with seat belts or harnesses, and manage student behaviour in line with policy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to treat all pupils, parents, and staff with care, consideration, and courtesy.
  • A flexible and reliable approach to work, excellent time keeping, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
