We are a high achieving, forward thinking practice in Swinton, with around 14,000 patients. We have 5 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Nursing Associate, 2 HCAs, an in-house pharmacy team of 4 and an administration team of 12. We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our well-established team for 4 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job:
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing care plans for health.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, collecting data for audit purposes.
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Aware of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing.

Job responsibilities:
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
- The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
- Effective management of long-term conditions.
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks.
- On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
- Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
- Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training.
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
- Support the training of GPSTs and FY2 doctors.
- Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times.
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: Qualified GP MRCGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT), Full GMC Registration, National Performers List registration, Competent in the use of Office and Outlook.
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit.
- Experience of medicines management.
- Provide supervision to doctors in training when needed.
- Experience working within General Practice.
