As the Lead Audio Engineer at SIDE, you will be responsible for the supervision of the technical staff, facility equipment and studio operations, helping to ensure the timely completion of agreed deliverables and milestones, to a very high standard. For an outsource company it’s the ‘high quality’ that brings back returning clients and keeps the awards coming.
Duties And Key Responsibilities- Daily management of staff, including project output, addressing issues, and resolving and escalating to senior management where required.
- Review and approve department hours for TA’s and Engineers ensuring and highlighting any concerns to senior management.
- Work with the production team on setting up external studios for recordings, either locally or remotely.
- Organize and allocate jobs to staff through the work diary and ensure excellent communication between all departments.
- Liaise with clients about best technical practices for their session.

- Be on standby to engineer studio and location sessions – from wild dialogue recording to location off-site recording.
- Help prepare studio sessions’ assets such as audio and video reference files and dialogue scripts.
- Help maintain studios and studio equipment, including defining new tech needed.
- Develop studio services, processes, and workflow.
- Work with the Directors, Heads of Department, and Managers to lead SIDE as the market leader in its field.
- Supervision and development of the studio team, including allocation of projects.
- Conduct regular 1to1’s to issue feedback on performance in relation to KPI and tasks undertaken.
- Identify recruitment needs and management of resource planning.
- Track and monitor studio budget and highlight concerns to senior management.
- To work in collaboration with the other heads and senior management team to ensure best practices are kept.
- Excellent client facing and internal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial audio postproduction role, ideally working for some time within a studio.
- Experience working across multiple projects and languages.
- The ability to strategize and allocate resources for upcoming projects.
- Experienced user of Pro Tools and other DAWs.
- Experienced with video workflows, tracklaying and ADR through VoiceQ.
- Experienced user of Audition, RX or other similar software.
- Experienced user of MS Office, especially Excel.
