This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a dynamic, international environment. As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting our London-based Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
- Entering customer receipts, supplier payments and other bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations for review.
- Ensuring that VAT codes are correctly input.
- Reviewing and reconciling Debtor and Creditor Accounts (including prepayments and accruals).
- Performing a variety of accounting reconciliations including group intercompany accounts.
- Performing Credit control activities and providing information to support cash flow forecasting and management.
- Supporting the production of the monthly management accounts.
- Performing an initial review to identify and elevate reporting discrepancies or control issues.
- Completing monthly tasks checklists, particularly to ensure that processing and reconciliations and controls are complete.
- Assisting with preparing Year‑end audit files, ensuring all information and supporting documents are electronically available, in accordance with the agreed timeframe.
- Assisting others in the Finance Team with any other duties as required, including the upkeep of electronic records.
MIS and Reporting:
- Maintain financial records for the UK business in a manner that facilitates timely and accurate Management reports.
- Assist FP&A teams with the preparation of budgets by providing relevant information on a regular basis.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on the financial activity of the overall company.
Requirements:
- Hands‑on experience in end‑to‑end accounting activities, balance sheet and other reconciliations and monthly and annual accounts closures.
- Good Communicator, “Make It Happen” attitude, and should be ready to work under pressure and long hours based on the business requirements.
- Have a good working relationship with the wider finance team and other departments.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs for Accounting ERP, particularly Microsoft D365, will be a significant advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) in general and Excel in particular.
- Part Qualified and actively pursuing qualification.
- At least 3 years Finance work experience, 2 years of accounting and reporting.
- Demonstrable Intermediate Excel skills.
- Numerate and good attention to detail.
- Able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and strong desire to support the team in meeting organisational objectives.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Good time‑management skills.
- Ability to resolve problems and queries quickly and efficiently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
