Job Summary
A Live-In Carer provides compassionate, high-quality, and professional care for service users who require assistance with daily living. The role involves residing with the client and offering personalised support tailored to their needs. The Live-In Carer ensures the service userβs physical, emotional, and social well-being while promoting independence, dignity, and comfort. This role requires substantial caregiving experience, empathy, and flexibility, with responsibilities adjusted to the specific needs and health condition of the service user.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance β help with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility support and safe transfers.
- Health Monitoring & Medication Administration β administer or supervise medications, monitor health changes, document doses on Birdie EMAR, report findings to management.
- Meal Preparation & Nutrition Support β prepare and serve nutritious meals, assist mealtimes, ensure hydration.
- Companionship & Emotional Support β provide conversation, emotional support, engagement in activities and social interaction.
- Household Environment β assist with light household duties, tidying, laundry, cleaning, organise shopping lists, run errands, accompany to appointments.
- Documentation & Reporting β maintain accurate records of each 24βhour period, care provided, changes, incidents via Birdie Care platform, report significant health concerns or behavioural changes promptly.
- Emergency Response β respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies, provide first aid if qualified, alert emergency services and management team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Free FULL training provided.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks safely.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Care certificate.
- Training in medication administration and monitoring.
- Familiarity with dementia, physical disabilities or palliative care.
- Compassionate, reliable, respectful, adaptable, confidential handling.
Salary & Benefits
