Why Join Siddall and Hilton?

As Sales and Operations Administrator, you’ll be at the centre of our commercial operation, working with customers, production, transport and sales to make sure every order reaches the customer on time.

Reporting to the Sales Office Manager and working closely with the commercial team, transport and supply chain, you’ll play a key role in keeping customer orders moving and supporting the continued growth of Siddall & Hilton.

We make welded steel mesh in Brighouse, and we have done since 1895.

You’ll be based in our modern, professional office environment.

It’s a busy, friendly environment where good administration keeps everything running — a role with real variety, visible impact and plenty of contact across the business.

We’re an SME with a long history and a forward-thinking outlook.

Being this size means you’ll be close to the decisions – and that priorities sometimes shift, so the role suits someone flexible, happy to take on a broad range of duties and to contribute beyond a narrow remit when needed.

In return there’s genuine scope to develop as you grow into the role.

What You'll Be Doing?

  • Be one of the first friendly voices our customers hear, handling enquiries by phone and email with professional, timely responses that build lasting relationships
  • Take ownership of customer orders through our ERP system, from checking pricing and specifications to processing amendments and keeping everything moving
  • Make sure Planning and Production always know exactly what our customers need, and help resolve any issues affecting delivery
  • Play your part in getting orders delivered on time, liaising with delivery partners and keeping customers updated
  • Be the person who keeps everything joined up, maintaining reliable records and producing reports that keep the operation running smoothly
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with teams right across the business, stepping in to support colleagues during busy periods
  • Spot opportunities to do things better, streamlining processes and making the most of digital and AI tools to work smarter
  • What We’re Looking For
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an administrative or office-based role.
  • Ideally experience of an SME — where the job is broad, you’re close to the decisions, and you think nothing of picking up something outside your job description when it needs doing.
  • Strong organisational skills and accurate attention to detail.
  • Experience of order processing or an ERP system is welcome, but we’ll teach you ours.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A confident telephone manner and clear communication, building effective relationships across departments.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach and a willingness to take on a broad range of duties.
  • Confident and self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative.
  • A team-focused attitude, happy to support colleagues across the business.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • What's In It For You
  • £27,600 - £31,000 per annum depending on experience, with an annual salary review
  • 34 days' paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays (carry over up to 5 days for extra flexibility)
  • Industry-leading salary-sacrifice pension scheme, helping you grow your retirement savings while paying less tax
  • Life assurance worth four times your salary
  • Paid charity volunteering day to support a cause you care about
  • Employee Assistance Programme for confidential support whenever you need it
  • Pirkx platform — discounts and offers across everyday spending
  • Access to a personal financial coach through Octopus Money Coach
  • Cycle to Work scheme and free on-site parking, just five minutes’ walk from Brighouse train station
  • Free on-site EV charging points
  • A modern office with a team garden, canteen, games area, shower facilities and cycle shelter
  • A structured training programme and genuine career progression pathways
