About the Role

  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday).
  • Shift Pattern: Two-shift rotation (weekly) Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm, Late Shift: 12:00pm – 8:00pm. No weekends.
  • FLT counterbalance essential. 70% FLT + material movement, 30% production support. Training provided.
  • Permanent role from day one in a stable, growing manufacturing business.

We are recruiting an FLT / Production Operative (Manufacturing) to join our hands-on manufacturing team. This role plays a key part in supporting production flow, material handling, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping across the site. You will work within a supportive team environment where teamwork, safety, and pride in doing things properly come first. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and wants to build long-term skills in manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Transport and prepare wire for production requirements. Safely operate cranes & FLT’s for handling and relocating materials. Crane training provided. Perform manual finishing tasks using hand power tools.
  • Machine Operation: Operate bending & profiling machinery to shape materials as required.
  • Production & Quality: Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished products. Support manual production processes when required. Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with 5S methodology and company standards. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, in compliance with health and safety regulations. Promptly report hazards, defects, or equipment issues.
  • Development Objectives: Build knowledge of raw materials, production flows and materials handling techniques. Consistently perform quality checks and maintain high housekeeping standards. Progress towards greater responsibility within manufacturing operations.
