A varied and fulfilling role that offers invaluable experience of working in our busy PE Faculty assisting in the delivery of Sport/PE in the Junior School (Pre-School to Year 6 pupils), planning and teaching of lessons, fixtures and co-curricular activities. As well as delivering sport in the Junior School during the week, the role will involve various boarding and school duties both during the week and at weekends.

We would expect the successful candidates to be full members of the team and prepared to experience a role as a teacher of Physical Education. This is an exciting opportunity for those in tune with our approach to education in search of gaining experience of working in a boarding and day school for one academic year, perhaps prior to embarking on a PGCE course or taking up a teaching position.

Due to the boarding element of this role, it is a residential post, so we would expect the successful candidates to live in accommodation on site. It would be an advantage to have had some experience of coaching either hockey, netball, rugby, football, basketball or cricket, but other sports will be considered.

Sidcot School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service. Specific safeguarding responsibilities for this position are outlined in the job description. All positions within the School are exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
