We seek an individual who can demonstrate they are engaged with the contemporary challenges within water conservation, the built environment, sustainability, and energy efficiency. The successful candidate needs to be knowledgeable of, and self-organised in keeping abreast of, developments in regulations & standards, industry guidance, and technical developments. Driven to understand challenges and seek design solutions, in collaboration with internal and external design teams.
The Senior Public Health Engineer will lead the design, coordination, and management of Public Health systems for diverse building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and client requirements. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, manage project timelines, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a key technical lead within the organisation.
Responsibilities:- Define and develop project briefs to deliver public health and fire protection systems to the client’s and statutory requirements.
- Design and detail public health and fire engineering systems.
- Prepare detailed design drawings in sketch form suitable for presenting concepts to Clients and other Design Professionals.
- Keep abreast of project design developments with architectural, structural, and services constraints.
- Advise other Construction Team Professionals on their own activities related to Building Services.
- Understand and be able to deliver net zero carbon and energy conscious designs.
- Monitor and report on the quality and progress of work on site.
- Work within a team environment and be able to instruct and lead mechanical design delivery teams.
- Manage projects to achieve Client satisfaction and profitability targets.
- Identify new work opportunities with Clients and other professionals.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering / or other relevant design & engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (CEng or equivalent).
- Technically competent: Building Regulations, CDM, British Standards, best practices on BSRIA and CIBSE guidance.
- Good Communicator.
- Current experience with Bluebeam Review, Navisworks, REVIT, Microsoft Office suites.
- Proven experience in leading engineering projects and teams.
