SICIS is an Italian luxury manufacturer founded in Ravenna, where art, craft and material innovation have coexisted for over thirty years. From hand‑cut glass mosaic and Vetrite surfaces to furniture, lighting, textiles, art installations and jewellery, SICIS creates environments that are — by design — impossible to ignore. Our work spans private residences, superyachts, international hospitality and landmark public spaces. Our clients include the world's leading architectural practices, interior designers, developers and high‑net‑worth individuals.
We are guided by three principles:
- Initiative — opportunities don't wait for instructions.
- Knowledge — opinions earn weight through experience and preparation.
- Results — we measure work by what it produces, not by how much is said about it.
The Business Development Manager UK will be the commercial engine of SICIS's UK market — responsible for growing our presence with architects, interior designers, developers and contract buyers, and for converting that presence into specified projects. You will work alongside the UK showroom manager and in close partnership with SICIS headquarters in Italy. The UK is one of our most strategically important markets. It requires someone who can operate with significant autonomy, build relationships from scratch and follow a project from first conversation to completed specification.
What You Will Do
- Proactively develop and manage a pipeline of A&D, contract and HNWI opportunities across the UK market.
- Build and maintain relationships with architectural practices, interior design studios, property developers and hospitality groups.
- Identify, target and pursue contract and FF&E projects where SICIS surfaces, furniture and lighting can be specified.
- Represent SICIS at industry events, trade shows, networking clubs and client activations.
- Coordinate with SICIS project management and production teams in Italy to ensure delivery commitments are met and client expectations managed.
- Maintain a structured CRM pipeline, report clearly on progress and own your numbers.
What We Are Looking For
Required
- Academic or professional background in architecture, interior design or a related design discipline — you understand how architects and designers think, work and specify.
- Proven sales experience within the contract sector or direct commercial experience working with or within architectural practices — you know how projects are built, who makes the decisions and when.
- Proven track record in business development or sales within luxury interiors, surfaces, architecture or related high‑end design sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to build a territory from limited resources — you have created pipelines, not just managed them.
- Familiarity with the UK A&D market: you know who the relevant studios are, how they specify, and how to get in front of them.
- Strong commercial instinct: you can read a room, qualify an opportunity and close without needing to be chased.
- Ability to prepare compelling commercial presentations and to present complex, configurable product ranges convincingly to technically sophisticated audiences.
- Self‑sufficient and structured: comfortable working with significant autonomy, managing your own time and reporting clearly without micromanagement.
- Excellent communication in English; Italian as a plus.
Optional
- Experience with full‑environment specification (surfaces + furniture + lighting), not just single‑category sales.
- Established relationships within the London luxury architecture, contract and hospitality development communities.
- Experience using CRM tools to manage and forecast pipeline.
- Familiarity with contract project workflows: from specification to tender to delivery coordination.
Who You Are
You take initiative before being asked. You are persistent without being pushy. You understand that in this market, relationships are built over years and won over lunch — and you have the patience and the energy for both. You are not looking for a structure that tells you what to do every morning. You want a brand worth representing, a product range that gives you something real to sell, and the freedom to go and make things happen.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary + performance‑based bonus.
- Full product training at SICIS headquarters in Ravenna.
- Working alongside the experienced UK showroom manager.
- The opportunity to grow with a brand that is expanding aggressively in the UK market.
